ABOUT THE ROLE

This position will contribute to the operational objectives of the Utilities function by providing administration support to the utilities function and other Utilities staff. Additionally, the position will provide limited administrative support to other Infrastructure Services staff located at the Airport Depot to contribute to the efficient operation of the Directorate.

Employment Status:  Full Time, Limited Tenure Up to 12 months.

Award: Level 2 of the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream A) Award – State 2017

Salary Range: $74,706 - $79,514 gross per annum

ABOUT YOU

The successful candidate will have:

| Essential Knowledge, skills and abilities |

  • Well-developed clerical, administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to self-manage, determine work priorities, meet deadlines and workflows, utilising a high level of initiative
  • Advanced computer literacy with the ability to utilise finance, records management system and the Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word and Excel, with the ability to prepare a wide range of correspondence and documentation including letters, reports and submissions.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills including a high level of verbal and written communication skills
  • and the ability to liaise and negotiate with a wide range of people.
  • The ability to exercise judgement and initiative where procedures are not clearly defined.
  • Be prepared to grow further in their role and have a willingness to learn and upskill.

| Essential Education/Qualifications |

  • Certificate III Business Administration (or similar) or relevant experience.

| Essential Licences |

  • Possession and maintenance of a current Queensland ‘C’ Class Driver Licence.

| Physical Requirements / Position Environment |

This position is primarily an indoor role and requires sufficient physical ability to work in a shared office setting, which involves prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing at a desk and operating a computer and telephone. This position is required to carry out light to moderate manual handling, bending, kneeling, twisting, squatting, lifting and carrying.
