We are seeking energetic individuals interested in becoming Aquatic Education instructors.

About the Role:

Aquatic Education Instructors provide instruction and education in swimming, water safety and survival skills to participants in various aquatic programs run at Banyule Leisure sites.

This position requires the flexibility to work shifts across our school and after-school programs each term.

** Please choose your availability to work for at least one of the shifts listed in Application Form.

Skills, experience and certificates:

  • Aquatic Educators must hold current Swim Teacher Qualifications·
  • Aquatic Education Instructors should have a sound knowledge of class management, swimming instruction, stroke techniques, water safety and water education, as well as resuscitation, rescue techniques and facility emergency evacuation procedures and plans.
  • Aquatic Education Instructors are required to attend four Aquatic Education training sessions or staff meetings annually, as well as all compulsory BL training sessions
  • A love of delivering high-quality, safe, and effective Learn to Swim and Water Safety Programs to children and adults.
  • Supervise the classes to ensure the safety of all aquatic program participants.

Essentials:

  • CPR Certificate
  • Current Working with Children Check.

Mandatory Pre-employment screenings:

  • Pre-employment medical check
  • Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC)
