Are you passionate about teaching water safety and helping people develop essential swimming skills? Banyule Leisure is looking for enthusiastic Aquatics Education Instructors to join our team and deliver high-quality swimming and water safety programs.

Why you’ll love this role and what you’ll do:

You’ll be working in a fun, supportive, and professional team environment where you will be making a difference by teaching essential swimming and water safety/survival skills. You will be providing aquatic program participants and parents with appropriate feedback and encouragement with respect to progress.

You’ll also:

  • Supervise classes to ensure the safety of all aquatic program participants
  • Instruct classes in water safety, survival skills, stroke technique and stroke correction
  • Develop and maintain a professional and friendly relationship with all aquatic program participants and parents

What you’ll bring/what we are looking for:

  • Experience working within a Learn to Swim Program (desirable).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent class management and safety management skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of how to work with children
  • Demonstrated understanding of the need for flexibility in approach
  • Demonstrate commitment to our values.
  • Must hold all mandatory qualifications – (essential and desirable listed below)

What’s on offer

  • Salary range $67,238.09- $70,699.31for full time ($34.02 to $35.77 per hour)
  • Primary work location Ivanhoe Aquatic occasionally Olympic Village
  • 18 weeks of paid parental leave - primary carer/2 weeks of paid parental leave - partner
  • Consistency in shifts, working on a permanent part time basis

The following shifts are available:

· Friday 3:50pm - 6:05pm

· Saturday 7:50am - 12:20pm

· Saturday 7:50am - 12:50pm

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • CPR certificate (essential)
  • Swim and Water Safety Teacher Qualification (essential)
  • Level 2 First Aid (desirable)

Pre employment checks:

  • Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) (Previously known as a police checks)
  • Pre-Employment Medical Check
  • Working with children check
