Working in a dynamic and pro-active team the incumbent will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, quality, and sustainability of recreational assets and facilities across the sport, recreation and cemetery network. The role will contribute towards Council's asset management plans, service plans and condition assessment by conducting formal inspections, improving asset data collection, and manage defects through efficient operation and maintenance of Council’s asset
management systems. The position will also provide a high level of customer service to a wide range of complex recreational operational and maintenance enquiries across the Blue Mountains Local Government area.

The candidate will bring the following to the role:

•    Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience will be accepted from a wide range of disciplines due to the diverse nature of this position. Some of the fields that may apply to this position include, but are not limited to recreation, project management and facilities management;
•    A diverse range of technical skills and knowledge will be considered for the position which has a recreation focus
•    Demonstrated commitment and ability to deliver high level customer service at all times; Well developed interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills.
•    A commitment to be adaptable and flexible in an diverse changing work environment;
•    Demonstrated problem solving, negotiation and decision making skills.
•    Ability to analyse, research and effectively present information, ideas and data.
•     Demonstrated experience with PC based work related tools, eg excel spreadsheets, asset management software, databases and corporate financial systems.
•     Excellent writing skills and the ability to prepare reports.
•    Knowledge and commitment to Occupational, Health and Safety requirements and principles of Equal Employment Opportunities.
•    Current Class C Drivers Licence.

The following are desirable attributes.

•    Previous Local Government experience.
•    A knowledge and understanding of Asset Management.
•    Knowledge and understanding of TechnologyOne.

Remuneration: base salary commencing at $86,547 gross per annum
 + Adverse working conditions of $1035 gross per annum
 + 11.5% superannuation
 + performance payment 1% - 3.5% annual salary 
 + annual award increase
