Job Description

The City of Albany’s Bicentenary Team is looking for an organised, passionate and results driven individual to take up the role of Bicentenary Project Officer.

Reporting to the Bicentenary Coordinator this role will be responsible for the planning and delivery of administration and projects that contribute to delivery of Albany 2026 Bicentenary. This role will see you responsible for; but not limited to:

  • Supporting the Bicentenary Coordinator in delivering the 2026 project, including project management, grant and funding management, strategy development, and event delivery;
  • Assisting in planning, organising, and promoting functions to confirm community programming for 2026;
  • Developing document sets for planning and reporting purposes, including communication and engagement plans, project plans, reports, briefing notes, customer service briefs, and stakeholder databases;
  • Conducting research, analysing special projects, and providing project support;
  • Seeking and preparing sponsorship and funding applications;
  • Enhancing the community’s cultural experience through special projects; and
  • Attending Council and public meetings as required.

Desired Skills and Experience

About You: Experience in the use of project management tools and digital marketing systems is essential. The successful candidate will also need:

  • Excellent time management, organisation, and administration and computer skills.
  • A strong customer service focus and commitment.
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure with flexibility and handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • A tertiary qualification or equivalent demonstrated experience in business administration, marketing, or a community development related field.
  • Previous experience in planning and delivering community consultation and engagement.
  • Demonstrated project management experience, including the ability to coordinate multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work outside of standard business hours as required.
  • A 'C' Class Driver’s licence.
  • A National Criminal History Check.
  • A First Aid Certificate.
