We are looking for an experienced Safety and Wellbeing professional to lead and manage a dedicated team in driving best practices in occupational health, safety, and wellbeing across the organisation.

What you’ll do

In this Safety and Wellbeing Leadership position, you will lead and develop a small, high-performing team focused on safety and wellbeing initiatives. You’ll oversee the implementation, continuous improvement, and compliance of workplace health and safety policies that help maintain a thriving workplace. Youll: 

Lead and Develop a High-Performing Team - As a people leader the primary objective is to lead and manage a small team responsible for safety and wellbeing. This involves fostering a positive team culture, providing coaching and mentoring, and ensuring alignment with organisational goals. The role includes managing the team’s annual work program and resource allocation to meet safety and wellbeing priorities.

Drive the Implementation of Safety Management Framework and Culture - You'll be responsible for reviewing, implementing, and embedding an effective safety management framework that aligns with best practices. This includes leading a change management program to enhance the organisation’s safety culture and integrating proactive risk management practices across all activities.

Ensure Compliance, Continuous Improvement, and Effective Incident Management -  Ensure compliance with legal safety requirements and best practices, while continuously evaluating and improving safety and wellbeing systems. This includes managing incident investigations, implementing preventative measures, and overseeing reporting mechanisms to support effective decision-making and continuous safety improvement

What you'll bring/what we are looking for

  • A bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Human Resources, or a related field (Postgraduate qualifications highly regarded).
  • Proven experience (6+ years) in workplace health, safety, and wellbeing leadership roles, preferably in complex or multi-faceted organisations.
  • Strong understanding of workplace health and safety legislation, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage, influence, and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

  • A Psychometric Assessment
  • Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) (Previously known as a police check)
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence

What we offer:

  • A permanent, full-time position
  • Salary $122,479.30 - $136,887.38 per annum plus super
  • Monthly Rostered Day Off (RDO)
