We deliver 29 key services such as childcare, waste collection, parks maintenance, libraries, community facilities and aquatic centres to over 370,000 residents

The Role

The City Events and Activations Producer will coordinate and deliver signature and major events for Council and implement Council's Events calendar and Events framework. The City Events and Activations Producer will also facilitate Council participation in Community Events in Canterbury Bankstown. 

*This opportunity will be offered on a Permanent Full-Time basis

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Monitor, implement and review Council's Community Events Policy and Annual Events Calendar.
  • Coordinate and deliver events, activations and ceremonies for Council 
  • Build relationships with key staff and community representatives.
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract sponsorship and local and external stallholders to Council’s events.
  • Consult with, advise and support appropriate events committees to manage, support and deliver quality community events.
  • Participate in projects across the Community Engagement and Events Unit, as required, and undertake other duties relevant to the role or skills required by the position

You will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Event Management, Marketing or a related discipline 
  • Demonstrated experience in the events industry with an understanding of project management of major and community events and festivals
  • A current Class C drivers' licence and own reliable transport
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in major event management
  • Ability to operate within a dynamic multi-disciplined, multi-project environment.
  • Ability to prepare and monitor budgets.
  • Previous experience supporting community committees and internal stakeholders
  • Flexibility to work after hours and weekends. 

The salary range for this opportunity commences at $90,858 (Grade G, Step 1) + 11.5% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
