About the Roles

The Shire of Esperance is looking to establish a talent pool to fill immediate and future casual vacancies at the Bay of Isles Leisure Centre. All positions assure Centre programs and services are delivered in a safe, inclusive environment while providing an excellent customer experience.

Swim School Instructors

In this position you will provide swimming lessons to groups, schools and individuals within the Bay of Isles Swim School Program guidelines. You will work to ensure a professional, safe, fun and educational environment is maintained and supervise students during swim classes at the highest standard of safety.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • a current Austswim Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Certificate or equivalent;
  • a current Working With Children Check; and
  • a current Apply First Aid Certificate.

Lifeguards

This role involves providing the highest level of safety and supervision for the patrons of the Bay of Isles Leisure Centre aquatic area. You will ensure the Centre is set up, clean and safe for customers at all times, administering first aid if and when required.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A current Pool Lifeguard Certificate.
  • A current Provide Fist Aid Certificate.
  • A current Working With Children Check.
  • Experience in supervision of aquatic areas.
  • Excellent customer service skills.

Health and Fitness Instructors

This role instructs and conducts health and fitness programs and classes as well as undertaking basic fitness assessments for patrons of the Leisure Centre.

Responsibilities include:

  • Showing and demonstrating to clients the correct usage of gymnasium equipment.
  • Maintaining a positive and enthusiastic approach to conducting classes.
  • Ensure a high level of customer service is provided to the patrons of the Centre.

Customer Service Officers - Kiosk

This role involves serving customers, preparing food and drinks including hot chips and coffees. 

All positions require a current satisfactory Police Clearance Certificate be provided before commencement.

The Benefits

Salary: Pay rates are age dependant and range up to $32.77 per hour including loading, plus superannuation.

Hours may be varied over the operating hours of the Bay of Isles Leisure Centre, including over the weekends.
