Cook, Early Learning Centre

THE POSITION:

 Council is seeking an enthusiastic staff member to join their Children’s Services team as a permanent, part-time cook. The successful applicant will need to provide nutritionally balanced meals that meet the dietary needs of children aged 0 to 5 years.  

ESSENTIAL: 

• RTO approved Food Hygiene Course
• Food and Nutrition for children aged 0-5 years
• Food Safety Supervisors Certificate
• Experience in the preparation of food for large groups of people including budget and purchasing experience, working on own.
• Experience in development of menus and dietary requirements

DESIRABLE:

• Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education & Care
• Previous experience in childcare centre or small kitchen. Experience in a working environment that has required implementation of policy, Law and Regulations.
• Menu development for children 0-6 years

SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:

• Permanent part-time position, 25 hours per week, split over 5 days per week, 5 hours per day from 8.30am to 2.00pm
• This position is a Grade 2, salary range is $62,201 (PRO-RATA) p.a. with progression to $68,663 (PRO-RATA) p.a. on demonstrated competencies, with performance progression to $72,863 (PRO-RATA) p.a.
• A uniform is provided
