  • Band 8 - Salary Range $123,831 to $138,629 per annum + 11.5% Super + ADO

The Opportunity

Melton City Council seeks a fixed term full time Coordinator to coordinate the Environmental Health Unit. This exciting opportunity will allow the successful candidate to develop vision and purpose statements; coordinate and oversee the development of strategies, policies and procedures. Taking into account best practice and Council’s existing culture and practice; integrate and align the key areas with each other and with other areas of Council.

The role will report to the Manager Community Safety and lead Council’s Environmental Health team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate delivery of Council services in relation to environmental health services.
  • Develop and implement innovative models of service that will enhance the health and safety of the community.
  • Lead, coach, supervise and mentor staff to create an environment that fosters Council’s values, including continuous improvement.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • Degree in the relevant field with further formal qualifications in the field of expertise or in management or through at least four years of experience in another specialised field. Alternatively, lesser formal qualifications together with extensive and diverse experience, or intensive specialist experience.
  • Broad experience in the delivery of Environmental Health functions.
  • Demonstrated experience in the coordinating of quality services aimed at meeting the needs of our community and improving the amenity of the municipality.
  • Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
