The MacDonnell region is located in the centre of Australia. Covering 270,000sq km and with an estimated population approaching 7,000, it has a unique beauty with picturesque water holes, magnificent flora and fauna, red desert sands and rugged mountain ranges.
As the Coordinator Policy, you will be responsible for the facilitating MacDonnell Regional Council's obligations under the Local Government Act 2019 and associated regulations guidelines, and Ministers Instructions. Responsible for the development, monitoring, and review of all policies for the council. Facilitate legislative and regulatory compliance reporting and audits. Liaise with external stakeholders including the NT government, agencies, associations and consultants as required. This position may be based in Alice Springs or remotely.
Our successful candidate will ideally hold a Degree level qualification in policy, business, law, governance or related discipline or equivalent experience. Extensive experience in compliance, policy and Local Government functions. Demonstrated experience working in a culturally and linguistically diverse environment together with solid Microsoft Office Suite skills are required.
