About the role

The role of Crew Leader Bridges and Wharves is responsible for the delivery of general maintenance projects, predominantly in the area of bridges and wharves, utilising both in-house construction staff and contractors. This role will see you responsible for undertaking a range of duties and responsibilities including the planning of maintenance works to deliver quality projects efficiently and cost effectively to a pre-determined budget maximizing the use of materials, plant and staff.

In addition, in this role you will be responsible for supervising a team, manage and supervise an integrated team of day labour staff, contractors and external service providers for the construction of bridges & wharves and associated while ensuring you carry out your duties and responsibilities in a manner that complies with all legislation and Council policies relating to WHS, Environmental Management and relevant construction standards and codes. 

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Certificate III in Civil (Bridge Construction and Maintenance) works or related field OR
    demonstrated solid contemporary experience in similar construction works, ideally in
    the field of Bridges and Wharves, combined with ongoing professional development;
  • General Construction Induction (White) Card;
  • SafeWork NSW Traffic Controller and Implement Traffic Control Plans Certificates (Blue
    & Yellow Cards).
  • Current First Aid Certificate;
  • Licence to perform dogging;
  • Current MR drivers Licence;
  • Workcover High Risk Elevated Work Platform;
  • Coxswain 3 Commercial Licence.

Other important information

  • The salary range for this position ranges between $71.9K - $84.4K plus 11.5% superannuation plus Level 1 Adverse Working Conditions  
  • This is a Permanent Full Time role.
  • This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight.
  • This role is located at the Erina Depot.
  • Successful candidates will be required to have vaccinations against Hepatitis A and B and Tetanus.

Council may create an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other permanent or temporary vacancies.
