About the Opportunity

The Economic Development Program Leader is responsible for managing the
delivery of the Economic Development Strategy 2023 - 2028 by developing
and implementing yearly Action Plans aligned to Council's Operational Plan
and Western Downs Regional Council's Corporate Plan. You will be
responsible for identifying opportunities and implementing initiatives and
programs to grow the economy whilst working with internal and external
stakeholders to enable industry and business development and enhance
liveability.
Responsible for leading a relatively new Economic Development team, and
the delivery of the Economic Development program.

About Yourself

A person in this position will need to hold a relevant tertiary qualification in a
related field, OR be able to demonstrate equivalent related experience. It is
also highly desirable for the successful candidate to have demonstrated
experience in the development of innovative and practical solutions in
regional economic development. Knowledge of economic development data
and key indicators are essential.
The successful applicant will require values aligned to Council, the ability to
build a strong team culture, and the ability to lead a number of initiatives on-
time and on-budget, providing strong value to the Western Downs region.

Salary Packaging Available

Leave Loading

You will receive 17.5% leave loading on top of your base rate of pay, while you are on Annual Leave.

Relocation Assistance
