About the Opportunity

Support the Economic Development Team in the pursuit of a diverse economy and strong economic growth for the region. The suitable candidate will be equally strong in administering programs, as well as external stakeholder engagement and promoting economic development programs.  

This position can be located at any of the major regional centres (Dalby/Chinchilla/Tara/Miles or Wandoan).

This position is fixed term until 20 December 2024.

Reporting to the Economic Development Program Leader, you will:

  • Undertake and support exciting projects and programs relevant to the Department;
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders and foster collaboration in key programs;
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills; e.g. the ability to prepare reports, and marketing and promotions materials, as well as public speaking; and
  • Undertake statistical research and analysis that informs activities and decision making.

About yourself

The successful applicant will have:

  • demonstrated experience in researching and reporting on statistical data, in order to support research projects;
  • hold a relevant Certificate III in Business or in a related field, OR be able to demonstrate equivalent related experience;
  • an interest in the regional economy and be motivated to learn.
