What you’ll do

As the Project Manager – Circular Economy, you will:

  • Lead the successful implementation of key waste and recycling initiatives, ensuring compliance with legislative and contractual timeframes.
  • Deliver projects on time, within scope, and on budget, maintaining high-quality outcomes.
  • Collaborate across Council departments to drive cross-organisational engagement and communication at key milestones.
  • Develop and manage project plans, ensuring resources, schedules, and priorities are aligned for seamless execution.
  • Prioritise customer satisfaction, ensuring smooth transitions and clear communication with the community.
  • Build strategic relationships with contractors, internal teams, and external stakeholders to enhance service delivery.
  • Prepare and deliver project reports, offering insights and solutions to support decision-making.
  • Analyse data, identify opportunities, and implement innovative solutions to improve waste management efficiency.

What you'll bring/what we are looking for

  • A tertiary qualification in Project Management, an Environmental field or a related discipline with extensive experience in the management of projects (preferably service delivery)
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability and decision-making attributes to support the Waste Management team within a complex environment where accurate and timely advice on project management matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to work productively and efficiently as part of a multidisciplinary team and seek innovative and practical solutions to problems, issues, and conflict in an effective, timely and transparent manner.
  • Diverse experience in whole-of-life project management, preferable in-service delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver capital projects within an agreed framework, including management of scope, budget, schedules, and policy requirements.
  • Knowledge of the Circular Economy practices applicable to local government waste services.
