The Role 

The primary objective of this position is to successfully lead the Strategic Planning function within the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO), with a focus on the Planning and prioritisation of Council initiatives. Provide a high level of professional expertise to the Council capital and operating portfolio with a focus on strategic planning and benefits realisation. 

 

About You 

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a strategic planning role, ideally within an EPMO/PMO environment or an industry with transferable skills.   

Demonstrated proficiency for accurate and timely delivery of council's overall portfolio progress to deliver the Council plan, and progress reporting.  

Use of computers and information technology, coupled with high level communication and conflict resolution skills and a demonstrated ability to investigate and analyse data with a high level of attention to detail.  

 

Key Selection Criteria 

  • Ability to link strategy to planning and project execution readiness 
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in and experience Business Management, Portfolio, Strategy or a related discipline and sound relevant professional experience 
  • Demonstrated project management capacity with capital and development strategies. 
  • An energetic, engaging and positive leader and team player with a track record contributing to broader organisational leadership, transformation and culture  
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills to skilfully communicate complex issues and ideas to a variety of audiences to impact outcomes 
  • Demonstrated capability in positively leading programs and projects 
  • Experience and/or understanding of a PPM system (Portfolio & Project Management) would be advantageous, particularly experience within a Council environment with CAMMS
