As a casual Gallery Assistant, your role is central to the preparation and presentation of exhibitions, ensuring that every aspect runs smoothly. You’ll collaborate with the technical team to maintain high production standards and ensure the seamless installation and dismantling of exhibitions.
Your Role:
• Assist with the installation and dismounting of displays.
• Restore gallery walls, plinths, and fittings post-exhibition and maintain technical equipment.
• Perform technical duties as directed by the Curator and Coordinator, and construct sets, props, and other artistic
elements.
• Frame and un-frame artworks, while following best practices for safe handling.
• Greet gallery visitors, answer questions, and provide an outstanding visitor experience.
• Support exhibition launches by setting up furniture, managing equipment, and handling artwork sales. • Oversee volunteers and work experience students to foster a positive and productive environment.
• Adhere to all gallery safety protocols.
