Job Description

Purpose

Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and risk management systems to ensure Council complies with WHS legislation and standards. Support a safe work environment by managing risk, facilitating training, monitoring compliance, and coordinating workplace health initiatives to minimise incidents and promote wellbeing for staff and the community.

Essential Requirements

• Qualifications in Work Health & Safety at a Certificate IV level or a related discipline or relevant knowledge and experience in work health and safety.
• Demonstrated experience in an administrative role in a high-volume and confidential environment.
• Developed interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation.
• Demonstrated organisational skills, ability to prioritise, maintain accuracy, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office and other software programs/packages relevant to the position.
• High level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to produce correspondence or reports.
• Demonstrated capacity to coordinate the roll-out/delivery of training and/or health programs.
• Class C Driver’s Licence.

Desirable Requirements

• Introduction to Return to Work Coordination.
• Certificate IV Workplace Assessment and Training.
• Experience in the development and implementation of Work Health and Safety Management Plans conforming to AS/NZS 4801.
