The Opportunity

Play a specialist leadership role in attracting grant funding for one of the fastest growing local government areas in Australia. In this role you will lead the strategic grant attraction program to secure funding for Council priorities and build and maintain positive relationships with external funding bodies. 

Reporting to the Manager Advocacy and Government Relations you will make a positive difference to the community by identifying external funding opportunities available to Council and coordinating high quality funding submissions that maximise investment success.
You will also establish systems and processes for monitoring grant conditions, reporting, financial and acquittal requirements. 

This new position will create the environment for investment success and build capacity across the organisation for best practice grant attraction and management. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with representatives from State and Federal government departments to favourably position investment success and project delivery.
  • Strong writing and interpersonal skills with ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to coordinate small cross functional teams to achieve outcomes and build capacity within teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing implementing project plans.
  • High level administrative skills to effectively centralise and manage information, correspondence and reporting.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in business or a similar discipline with extensive and diverse management experience or intensive specialist experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the coordination and preparation of external funding applications and investment success.
  • Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and collaboratively plan and deliver project outcomes within set timelines.
  • Strong business writing skills for the preparation of grant applications, report writing, strong presentation skills and ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience and capability to manage administrative and planning aspects of projects along with strong project management skills.
