About the Role

As a Health, Safety & Wellbeing Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in driving proactive holistic safety and wellbeing initiatives. Partnering with leaders and employees, you will provide expert guidance, influence positive change, and contribute to a strong risk-aware safety culture. This role is an exciting opportunity to be part of effective change, enhancing the way we work and improving safety across Council.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide strategic advice and hands-on support to leaders and employees on health, safety, and wellbeing matters.
  • Drive cultural and behavioural change through effective engagement and education.
  • Lead risk management initiatives, ensuring compliance with OHS, Injury Management and Child Safety legislation.
  • Oversee and improve Council’s safety management systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Support child safety, injury management, return-to-work programs, and early intervention initiatives.
  • Influence and contribute to a positive, proactive safety culture.

What You’ll Bring

  • A qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Injury Management, or a related field.
  • Strong experience in an OHS or Wellbeing role, ideally within a local government or similar setting.
  • The ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and drive change.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to improving workplace safety.
  • Experience in managing safety systems, risk assessments, and compliance processes.
