The role

Key responsibilities undertaken by the Homelessness Project Officer include:

• Develop an overarching governance arrangement (Homelessness Steering Committee), as an output measure for ongoing support to address homelessness across the Shire
• Advocate to state and federal government for more funding and resources to address homelessness issues in our shire
• Liaise with external services including outreach services, relevant support agencies, health and housing agencies, police and emergency services as well as relevant internal staff across the organisation as required
• Raise awareness regarding supportive responses to people experiencing homelessness

• relevant experience and qualifications
• ability to undertake effective project management
• skills in quality report writing and preparation of internal and external correspondence
• effective communication and relationship building skills
