We have an incredible opportunity for a Cadet Surveyor to join our Design and Survey Services team at Cairns Regional Council.
Whether you are a recent Year 12 school graduate with an interest in surveying, or already studying this qualification, you will gain important on the job experience to grow in your role and become a proficient surveyor.
What You Will Do:
As a Cadet Surveyor, you will work alongside our experienced Principal Surveyor and Surveyors to develop your technical skills and gain in-depth knowledge of the surveying field. Whether you are assisting with field surveys, operating engineering software, or coordinating resources, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality surveying services for Council projects.
This is a truly unique opportunity to build technical expertise through a combination of external studies, fieldwork, and mentoring from experienced Surveyors.
What We Are Looking For:
• Candidate must meet eligibility requirements to enrol at the University of Southern Queensland to complete external studies and / or demonstrated progress towards an Associate Degree of Surveying (Surveying Major)
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written
• Demonstrated ability to balance work duties and academic responsibilities
• Demonstrated willingness to continually develop technical expertise and experience
