Irrigation Leading Hand

The Lucas Group is recruiting for a motivated Irrigation Leading Hand to join our client’s team on a thriving 825ha almond orchard in the Liparoo region, VIC. This is a hands-on role where you’ll play a critical part in supporting sustainable tree growth and optimising irrigation operations.

About the Role
Working closely with the Irrigation Controller, you’ll be responsible for day-to-day irrigation activities, with the autonomy to implement irrigation programs tailored to the farm’s needs. You’ll also oversee the maintenance and monitoring of soil moisture, irrigation systems, and infrastructure to ensure the orchard operates efficiently and sustainably.

Key Responsibilities

• Train and guide orchard technicians on irrigation and maintenance programs.
• Coordinate with contractors to ensure timelines and scope of work are met.
• Oversee the efficient delivery of water and fertilizer to the orchards.
• Maintain, service, and repair irrigation systems promptly.
• Identify and address wet areas, implementing corrective measures.

About You
