Field Officer - Permanent Full Time

  • Salary: $77,780 - $83,141 per annum
  • Plus up to 14.5% superannuation (conditions apply)

Are you interested in an opportunity to join the Community Safety team as a Field Officer to positively represent the City in interactions with members of the public? This varied role encompasses numerous elements including (but not limited to) providing a high level of customer service, engaging and educating the community to gain compliance with regards to local laws/acts/regulations, animal handling, parking, dog/cat registrations, litter, verge control, abandoned vehicles and fire breaks, all of which are an integral part of the City’s services.

This position is subject to a roster that operates between 7am and 8:30pm seven days per week.

Your covering letter will need to address the following key criteria:

  • Demonstrated responsive customer service skills
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to turn difficult situations into opportunities to positively promote compliance
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Ability and willingness to handle animals

In addition, applicants are required to have:

  • Current WA “C” class driver’s licence
  • Current Provide First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011)
  • Satisfactory National Police Clearance (NPC) within the last 3 months (or appointment to the position subject to the ability to obtain NPC)
  • Attainment of ROCS 1 & 2 desirable, however training towards this may be available as part of ongoing L&D opportunities
