The Whitsunday Regional Council is situated at the heart of the Great Barrier Reef. The region encompasses the 74 tropical Whitsunday Islands, the coastal towns of Cannonvale, Airlie Beach, Jubilee Pocket, Shute Harbour and Bowen along with the rural towns of Proserpine and Collinsville. The Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a Parks and Gardens Leading Hand. Based at the Cannonvale depot, the role of Leading Hand is responsible for coordinating and providing labouring duties with construction, establishment and maintenance of parks and gardens infrastructure in the Whitsunday region.

Essential

• C Class “Manual” Drivers Licence
• Construction Safety Induction (White card)

Desirable

• Certificate II or III in Horticulture
• Traffic Management Implementation
• Certificate II in Chainsaw Operations
• Commercial Operator’s Licence for the application of herbicides
• Certificate in Working at Heights
• Certificate in Elevated Work Platforms
• HR Licence
• Playground inspection qualification Level 1 and 2
• Light Rigid Truck Licence
• Backhoe Licence
