About the Role

Based in Tara, you will be responsible for assisting with planned and reactive maintenance of Council owned facilities.

Reporting to the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, you will:

  • Undertake repairs, maintenance, replacements and modifications of Council buildings using your skills from a variety of trades in a range of work environments, using cost-effective solutions;
  • Assess requested works and prioritise customer requests, identify and resolve issues and recommend and procure contracted treatment options; and
  • Ensure that Council and community owned buildings meet workplace health and safety standards and requirements through applying quality control techniques.

This position is full time fixed term until 10 January 2025.

About you

The successful applicant will have:

  • a proven high level of experience in building repairs and maintenance;
  • experience in performing a variety of quality building maintenance activities including painting, maintenance and minor building construction tasks and ability to solve routine problems as they arise;
  • experience with coordinating and supervising contractors on a job site;
  • a competent computer literacy; and
  • a Construction Induction White Card.

It is also highly desirable for the successful candidate to have:

  • a trade qualification in carpentry or extensive experience in the building and/or building maintenance industry
  • Bobcat and/or Elevated Work Platform tickets
  • MR Drivers Licence

This role is full time, working 38 hours per week with a fortnightly RDO.
