The Opportunity

Join Maribyrnong City Council in a pivotal role where you will design and implement programs and projects to enhance organisational development (OD) and learning initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to drive meaningful change, support staff development, and contribute to a culture of continuous learning. Working closely with the Organisational Development Coordinator, you will play a key role in developing engaging learning materials, facilitating training sessions, and overseeing essential OD projects that align with Council priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop e-learning programs and instructional materials to support organisation-wide training needs.
  • Facilitate OD and learning initiatives, including leadership programs, corporate induction, and compliance training.
  • Maintain and improve the Learning Management System and Corporate Training Calendar.
  • Provide expert advice on instructional design, training methodologies, and best practices in employee development.
  • Oversee administrative functions such as procurement, invoicing, contract management, and logistics for OD activities.
  • Manage OD projects and programs effectively, ensuring they meet objectives and align with Council's strategic goals.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring a strong background in organisational development and learning. You are a proactive professional with a passion for employee growth, engagement, and capability development. Your ability to collaborate, communicate effectively, and manage multiple projects will be key to your success in this role.

Key skills & experience

  • Diploma or degree in Organisational Development, Learning & Development, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (mandatory).
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing OD and learning programs.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to deliver outcomes on time and within budget.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across various teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience in facilitating training sessions.
  • Experience in evaluating and reporting on learning and development program outcomes.
