$60,886 - $71,798 per annum + 13% superannuation. (The Hourly rate is $30.81 - $36.33)

About the role

This role contributes to the success of the City by leading and supporting a dynamic team of car park operations officers in managing the city’s car parks, and the enforcement of the relevant car park legislation.

Role accountabilities include: 

  • Patrol on-street and off-street parking areas in Hobart.
  • Issue parking fines according to relevant laws and regulations
  • Ensure accuracy when issuing fines.
  • Report faults in the parking system and damaged or missing signage.
  • Attend court to give evidence related to parking enforcement.
  • Provide customer service at Council car parks, including handling enquiries and payment disputes.
  • Offer information to the public about parking, directions, and tourism.
  • Represent Council professionally and follow the Code of Conduct.

About you

We are looking for a vibrant and enthusiastic Parking and Information Officer to be the friendly face of our parking facilities.

What we are looking for:

  • People Person: Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential.
  • Calm Under Pressure:Ability to handle stressful situations with grace and efficiency.
  • Tech-Savvy: Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting.

Essential Qualifications and Experience 

  • Completion of year 10 or a Certificate Qualification in a relevant area (Customer Services, Business Administration) with an ability to undertake and complete the Certificate III in Local Government – Regulatory Services.
  • Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People.
  • Current Driver Licence.
