Plant Superintendent – Full-time

Council is seeking applications from highly motivated and experienced persons to fill this important role within Council’s mechanical workshop.

The position will be responsible for the overall replacement and maintenance of plant, fleet and equipment for Leeton Shire Council.

Qualifications and Experience

• The applicant should have the ability to supervise staff, handle complaints, assess and arrange resources for work activities, monitor compliance and be responsible for all associated WHS requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with external stakeholders and fellow employees is essential.
• A mechanical trade certificate is essential with at least four years' relevant experience and experience in a supervisory role.
• A Motor Vehicle Inspector’s certificate (heavy and/or light) is required together with a Class C driving licence.

Salary and Conditions

• The position is Grade 12 in Council’s salary system (from $77,079.38 to $86,757.30 per annum) plus allowances and 11.5% superannuation.
• A commuter use vehicle is also included.
• The position is 38 hours per week with a fortnightly Rostered Day Off.
• Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award.
• Prior to commencement, the successful applicant will be required to undergo ‘Drug & Alcohol’ screening and a ‘Medical Assessment’.
• It is also a requirement, on commencement, to show evidence of having received current COVID-19 vaccinations.
