Plant Workshop Supervisor – Full-time

An exciting opportunity exists within Council’s mechanical workshop to fill the important role of Plant Workshop Supervisor.

The position will be responsible for the supervision of daily workshop activities involving the servicing and repairs of all vehicles and plant.

Qualifications and Experience

• The applicant should have the ability to supervise staff, handle complaints, assess and arrange resources for work activities, monitor compliance and be responsible for all associated WHS requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with external stakeholders and fellow employees is essential.
• A mechanical trade certificate (diesel preferred) is essential with at least two years' relevant experience and experience in a supervisory role.
• A Motor Vehicle Inspector’s certificate (heavy and/or light) is required, or willingness to obtain such qualification.
• A Class C driving licence is essential.

Salary and Conditions

• The position is Grade 10 in Council’s salary system (from $68,139.00 to $76,700.00 per annum) plus allowances and 11.5% superannuation.
• Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award.
• The position is 38 hours per week with a fortnightly Rostered Day Off.
• Prior to commencement, the successful applicant will be required to undergo a ‘Functional Assessment’ which includes an Alcohol and Other Drug Check and a Hearing Test.
