About the opportunity

Are you an experienced sports turf operator with a passion for turf grass and community sport? Are you committed to building the best with a keen safety focus? If so then this is an opportunity you cannot miss.

With over 160 individual sporting fields and another 50 planned within the City in the next 10 years we are seeking a highly motivated individual to work within a small team to maintain our sports fields in a professional and efficient manner. You will be required to operate large scale grass cutting equipment, sports turf renovation equipment, undertake general maintenance, cleaning and litter collection at Council's sports field areas and assist with any renovation programs. 

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

• Extensive experience in tractor operations and of large-scale turf cutting maintenance
• Extensive experience in all facets of the maintenance of open space public recreational facilities, including sports fields, passive recreation facilities, roadside maintenance, public gardens etc
• Class C drivers licence.

Desirable:

• Class MR drivers licence
• WorkCover approved Front-end Loader accreditation
• WorkCover approved Backhoe Operator accreditation
• RMS approved Traffic Controller Implementation accreditation
• Relevant qualifications in a related field
• RMS approved Traffic Controller accreditation
• Herbicide Application accreditation.

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

• Entry level for this position starts at $1,112.32 per week
• 38 hour working week
• Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight
• Employee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 11.5% employer superannuation contribution payable to Active Superannuation Scheme, Fitness Passport and gym membership discounts, and social clubs.
