Council is offering a unique opportunity for an individual to work and train under the guidance of Council’s Team Leader Plumbing Services, to gain technical and professional skills to begin a career as a Plumbing Inspector with the Regional Strategy and Planning team.

This development pathway is offered over a two (2) year period where you will gain skills to understand and support the diverse functions of the Plumbing Services team, whilst ensuring compliance with the Plumbing Code of Australia and Council’s Operational and Corporate objectives. At the conclusion of
the development pathway, you will have established a strong foundation of relevant skills and knowledge to begin your career as a permanent, full time Plumbing Inspector with the Regional Strategy and planning team.

What we are looking for from you.

Essential

1. Queensland C Class Manual Driver’s Licence
2. Certificate III in Plumbing
3. Current QBCC Occupational Plumber and Drainer Licence
4. Current General Construction Induction Card (White Card)

Desirable

1. Onsite Wastewater Management Systems Design qualification
2. QBCC Endorsements in Backflow Prevention and Thermostatic Mixing Valves and Solar and Heat Pump installations
3. QBCC Onsite Sewerage Treatment Plant Maintenance endorsement
4. Eligibility as a member of the Institute of Plumbing Inspectors Queensland
5. Post Trade experience – Minimum five (5) years experience
6. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of applications
