North Sydney Council administers the North Sydney local government area on Sydney’s picturesque lower North Shore. Our 400 employees look after 77,000 residents spread across 10 square kilometres of land on the foreshores of Sydney Harbour providing spectacular harbour views, beautiful parklands and a bustling CBD.

The role 

We are seeking a dedicated Procurement Officer to ensure smooth daily procurement operations to maintain compliance against relevant policies and regulations across Council. In this role, you'll make a difference by enhancing efficiency, promoting transparency, and supporting sustainable procurement practices within our organisation. 

Key responsibilities can include: 

  • Ensure all procurement activities meet Council policies and legal requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and accessible procurement documentation for audits.
  • Collaborate with departments to address procurement needs and negotiate with suppliers.
  • Process internal orders and manage supplier profiles in procurement systems.
  • Train staff on requisition and invoice approval processes.
  • Assist in improving procurement procedures and manage asset disposal.

What we're looking for 

Along with a proactive and positive approach, you will have an understanding of procurement processes and compliance, excellent organisational and communication skills with a keen eye for detail. Experience with procurement systems is advantageous.

Salary Range: $75,283 to $89,892 per annum + $1,000 pa Transport allowance + 11.5% superannuation
