You will manage the planning and delivery of multiple built from minor projects and contracts from procurement to completion stages ensuring that they are delivered on time, on budget and to the highest quality in line with the City policies and frameworks and industry best practice and codes. You will also be a part of a dynamic team of professionals providing internal specialised project consultancy services for other City departments. You will be called upon to review specialised consultant and architect specifications, drawings, contract documentation and communicate amendments. The assessment of tender and quote submissions and the recommendation to award contracts is a vital part of your role. You will be required to create and update project management tools, registers, reports and other documentation as required by policies, procedures and the City’s Project Management Framework.

Pivotal to the planning and delivery of projects, you will have strong written and interpersonal skills, particularly verbal communication with the ability to build stakeholder relationships.  You will use your experience in managing and administering construction projects and contracts whilst managing cost control and financial reporting. You will also possess the ability to produce high quality project scopes, specifications, contracts, estimates and budgets. It is essential to have qualification in project management, construction, engineering or trades field. Being able to use your previous experience in local government along with understanding of appropriate legislation is highly regarded.

To be considered for this role, you must address the following selection criteria as part of your online application:

  1. Demonstrated experience in managing and administering construction projects and contracts
  2. Diverse construction/trade experience and technical expertise
  3. Experience with financial management of multi-disciplinary projects covering budgeting, cost control and reporting requirements
  4. Strong background in managing contractors and tradespersons
  5. Ability to produce high quality project scopes, specifications, contracts, estimates and budgets
  6. Strong written and interpersonal skills, particularly verbal communication
  7. Degree, diploma or trade qualification in project management, construction, engineering or trades field
  8. Current ‘C’ class driver’s licence

We are offering a gross salary of $88,929 per annum, and:

  • 11.5% superannuation with the option to co-contribute up to a further 5%
