LR Truck Driver - Parks and Recreation - Moranbah

Do you enjoy working outdoors and making a visible impact on your community? Isaac Regional Council is looking for a dedicated LR Truck Driver to join our Parks and Recreation team.

This position reports to the Team Leader - Parks and Recreation and is responsible for carrying out grounds maintenance of Community usage areas including sportsgrounds, parks, open space and cemeteries for Parks and Recreation Services across Isaac Regional Council.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a LR Truck Driver, you will be required to:

• Operate and maintain light rigid trucks and equipment for ground maintenance.
• Perform general gardening and landscaping duties including mowing, whipper snipping, spraying, and irrigation.
• Use hand tools, power tools, chainsaws, and pole saws for maintenance tasks.
• Support graffiti removal and general upkeep of community spaces.
• Work collaboratively with a team to deliver high-quality public amenities.

• Salary: $63,707.94 per annum (Stream B Level 3) plus allowances, including:

  • CPI Increase to $66,375.54 from 1 July 2025
• Full Time Hours: Nominally 76 hours over a 9-day fortnight

ABOUT YOU

• Experience: Minimum 12 months’ experience in grounds maintenance or similar outdoor work.
• Skills: Knowledge of basic mechanics and general maintenance. Ability to safely operate plant and equipment
• Communication: Strong communication and teamwork skills and a commitment to safety.
• Mandatory Requirements: 
  • Current ‘LR’ Class Driver’s Licence.
  • Construction White/Blue Card.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment functional assessment.
  • Clean driving record.

Desirable Qualifications:

• ‘MR’ Class Licence
• Tractor Operation Qualification
• Chainsaw Certification
• ACDC (Agricultural Chemicals Distribution Control) Licence
