Full-Time Position (38 hours per week)

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic Public Relations Officer to join our team and drive our media and communication efforts. In this position, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive media and communication strategy designed to enhance and strengthen the public image of both the Barkly Region and the Barkly Regional Council.

The Essentials

  • Experience in developing and implementing a successful media and communication strategy
  • Experience in the provision of high-quality social media content, website management, and other communication mediums such as newsletters and public documents
  • Ability to work with computer software packages.
  • Current Driver’s Licence.
  • Current National Police Criminal History Check (within the last 3 months).
  • Current Northern Territory Working with Children’s Clearance (Ochre Card).

The Finer Details

  • Full Time position paying at Level 8 of the Barkly Regional Council Enterprise Agreement 2023.
  • Annual Salary of $87,014.91 ($3,346.73 gross per fortnight).
  • Tennant Creek Zone Allowance of $1.89 per ordinary hour.
  • 11.5% Superannuation.
  • Annual Leave of 6 weeks paid with 17.5% Leave Loading.
  • Relocation Assistance of up to $5,000.

Barkly Regional Council requires that all applicants have a National Criminal History Check. You will be required to provide a recent National Criminal History Clearance prior to any offer of employment.

This position will require the applicant to be able to produce or be able to obtain a Northern Territory Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card) prior to commencement with Barkly Regional Council.
