About the Role

Council's Health & Regulatory Services section are seeking applications from suitably experienced compliance and/or regulatory professionals. 

Reporting to the Compliance Team Leader, the successful applicant will be responsible for implementing key actions as part of Council’s Illegal Dumping Strategy and investigating complaints received by Council in relation to non-compliance issues within the Wollondilly Local Government area. In addition the position will also provide assistance by conducting inspections relating to building and construction sites that present with inadequate and non-complying erosion and sediment controls.

No two days will be the same! 

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate their competency for the position by meeting the following essential criteria:

  • Experience in Compliance activities.
  • Demonstrated experience in the preparation of legal evidence, notices, orders and directions.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise, think and solve problems on a day-to-day basis.
  • Ability to interpret and apply legislation and Council Policies, in particular the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1991, Environmental Planning and assessment Act 1979, Local Government Act 1993, Traffic Act, Road Rules 2008 and Road Act.
  • A current and valid Working with Children Check clearance and ability to obtain a Police Check Clearance.
  • Current Class C driver’s licence.
