About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated professional to join our Assets, Transport and Engineering team in the position of Asset Engineer. Reporting to the Team Leader Asset Management you will provide technical support in the strategic management of Council's infrastructure assets through: 

• lifecycle modelling, asset renewal forecasting, risk-based prioritisation, and optimising asset investment decisions to support Council’s Asset Management Plans (AMPs) and Long-Term Financial Planning (LTFP).
• develop and maintain the Asset Management System (AMS) and provide support to specialist staff; and
• develop Asset Management Systems to achieve a capability that supports best practice asset management, valuations, mobile computing, maintenance, renewal planning and audit processes.

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate their competency for the position by meeting the following essential criteria:

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, IT, Asset Management, relevant discipline or near completion.
• Relevant work experience in Asset Management, civil construction or related field.
• Demonstrated experience in the development and use of asset management systems.
• Demonstrated experience in spatial database and Geographic Information systems (GIS).
• Demonstrated experience in condition assessment interpretation and renewal prioritisation.
• Demonstrated high level of written and verbal communication skills.
• A solid knowledge of programming language and how data is processed including database integration and SQL reporting.
