You will lead the planning and delivery of complex, built from major City projects ensuring that they are delivered on time, on budget and to the highest quality in line with the City and Council policies and frameworks and industry best practice and codes. You will liaise with the contract superintendents, representatives and administrators as required and be responsible for the creation of project scopes, specifications, contract documentation and schedules. You will be called on to review technical specifications, drawings and contracts. You will also provide excellent advice, technical leadership, guidance and support to the Infrastructure Project Delivery Team and the wider organisation. You will undertake research, investigation and evaluation of new technologies, products services or initiatives that can deliver increased level of service or financial benefits along with developing strategies to deliver complex projects within dynamic construction environments.

You must have well-developed technical knowledge of and minimum five years’ experience in building construction industry. You have demonstrated experience managing and coordinating contractors for building or civil works, ensuring projects are built within budget, quality and time constraints. The ability to produce high quality, technical project scopes, specifications, contracts, estimates and budgets is essential. When dealing with complex projects you will apply your highly developed skills and experience in financial management, decision making, negotiation, facilitation and problem solving.  You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, a strong background in stakeholder engagement and consultation, solid experience in assessment of technical tenders and development of contract documentation. It is essential that you have a tertiary qualification in project management or building construction, with formal qualifications in PMBOK or PRINCE2 being highly regarded.
