You will apply your turf management knowledge to provide effective leadership, direction share your technical knowledge with staff, apprentices and customers to maintain high quality and fit-for-purpose turf cricket wickets, sporting ovals and high profile turf areas within the City of Rockingham.

You will be required to maintain the turf wickets as per WACA standards and guidelines as well as undertake/manage activities such as irrigation programing/troubleshooting, turf laying, fertiliser applications, weed treatment, goal post installations and turf renovation works in accordance with safe work practices within Council policies.

You possess well developed interpersonal skills and enjoy working independently or as part of a team. You have relevant practical experience and knowledge in turf maintenance industry, including turf wicket preparation and commercial grounds turf management. 

To be considered for this role, you must address the following selection criteria as part of your online application:

  • Experience operating and maintaining commonly used turf equipment
  • Qualification in Turf Management (minimum Certificate III)
  • Construction Induction Training (White Card)

It is desirable to have the following:

  • Current and valid ‘MR’ class driver’s licence
  • Current Provide First Aid Certificate
  • Traffic Management Certificate
  • Supervisory qualification and/or experience

This position offers a wage of $1,492 per week (gross), and:

  • 11.5% superannuation with the option to co-contribute up to a further 5%
