About the role

We're looking for a hands-on and reliable Facilities Supervisor to lead our cleaning team and maintain the Rural City of Wangaratta’s public spaces to the highest standards. This role is perfect for someone who takes pride in their work, has a sharp eye for detail, and thrives in a team leadership role.

As the Supervisor – Facilities / Maintenance, you’ll be responsible for coordinating daily cleaning operations, supervising staff, ensuring facility readiness for community bookings, and carrying out light maintenance tasks. You’ll also be expected to work independently, manage schedules, and keep accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, train, and support cleaners including weekend and relief staff
  • Ensure all public facilities are cleaned to council standards and ready for public use
  • Monitor bookings and coordinate access for facility users
  • Identify and report maintenance issues; perform minor on-the-spot repairs
  • Operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively
  • Maintain stock levels of cleaning materials and manage reordering
  • Accurately complete work diaries, timesheets, and inspection records

What You’ll Bring:

  • Extensive cleaning experience in a public or commercial setting
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage rosters, schedules, and day-to-day operations
  • Confidence working independently and using initiative
  • Basic computer skills and record-keeping ability
  • A valid Driver’s Licence (essential)
  • First Aid Certificate (preferred)
