We have an exciting opportunity for a Surveyors Assistant to join our Design & Survey Services team. In this position, you will play a key role in assisting the Surveyors in the provision of surveying services to Council’s operations. Your day-to-day tasks will involve:

  • Assisting the Surveyors in providing investigation, monitoring, construction set out and as-constructed surveys for works and projects, undertaken by most of Council's departments.
  • Driving of survey motor vehicles, including daily vehicle safety checks and routine cleaning of vehicle.
  • Use and maintenance of surveying equipment and hand tools in surveying tasks.
  • Use of electronic equipment to detect underground pipes and cables for position and depth.
  • Painting of survey pegs.

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Current Open Driver's Licence in order to be able to drive survey motor vehicles.
  • Good communication skills and an understanding of basic mathematics.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Physically able to undertake a variety of strenuous labouring tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively within a team environment.
