About the role

Swim Programs Instructors are an important and highly valued part of our Leisure and Pools team providing high quality swim programs to meet the needs of our community, and forming positive relationships with learn to swim customers of all age groups to deliver our contemporary and high quality swim programs. 

We are looking for professional, team oriented and highly motivated individuals who enjoy being part of a diverse team, and understand the importance of a positive customer experience.

Shifts will be available Monday to Sunday, morning and afternoon. Penalty rates apply for weekend shifts.

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

Key activities of this role include:

  • Deliver high quality swim programs to enable participants to achieve their personal development goals and improve the swimming skills of the community;
  • Deliver swim programs as per Central Coast Councils Learn to Swim Program guidelines and lesson plans as directed by the Crew Leader;
  • Continually review and keep track of participants' progress;
  • Ensure the participant safety at all times through provision of safe activities and continual surveillance of swim class members;
  • Prepare lessons and equipment as instructed.

Essential Criteria:

  • Current AUSTSWIM qualification in teaching of swimming and water safety or Swim Australia Teacher (SAT) or Swim Coaching qualifications or equivalent;
  • Provide Resuscitation Certificate (HLTAID 001 / HLTAID 009);
  • Working with Children Check Clearance Number or Application Number as per Child Protection (Working with Children) Regulation 2013 (if over 18) or willingness to obtain prior to any offer of employment;
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering high quality swim programs of various levels or demonstrated previous experience in coaching swimming;
  • Demonstrated ability to embrace change and commitment to work across multiple work locations.

Other important information

  • The salary range for this position ranges between $15K - $18K plus 11.5% superannuation
  • This is a Permanent part time role. 
  • This role is located at Toukley Aquatic Centre and Wyong Olympic Pool. 
  • Successful candidates will be required to have vaccinations against Hepatitis B.
