The City of Karratha is looking for a motivated Waste Education & Projects Officer to join our Waste Fleet & Depot Department.
In this dynamic role, you'll deliver impactful waste education programs, lead innovative projects, and support the delivery of our Waste Management & Resource Recovery Strategy.
Key Responsibilities
• Developing and delivering engaging community waste education campaigns.
• Leading waste-related projects that reduce landfill and promote resource recovery.
• Facilitating workshops, events, and presentations for schools, residents, and businesses.
• Identifying and applying for grant funding to support sustainability initiatives.
• Building strong stakeholder relationships to support project delivery and innovation.
• Monitoring program success through community feedback, audits, and data analysis.
About You
You'll be someone who has:
• Formal qualifications in Waste Management, Environmental Science, or significant practical experience.
• Strong project management and community engagement skills.
• Knowledge of WA waste legislation and best- practice recycling and diversion strategies.
• Confident public speaker and workshop facilitator.
• Computer savvy with experience in reporting, data analysis, and business case development.
• A current manual C class driver’s licence & National Police Clearance (within last 6 months).
