THE ROLE

Reporting to the Manager Engineering, you will lead the Design Team to achieve corporate objectives by implementing best practice design principles. Your role involves:

  • Overseeing the development of functional, sustainable, and budget-compliant designs.
  • Collaborating within the Infrastructure Directorate to deliver engineering solutions for the community.
  • Managing multiple design projects, ensure regulatory compliance, and demonstrate strong leadership skills to improve team performance.
  • Additionally, you will play a key role in setting infrastructure standards and policies across the Shire, contributing to the Council's long-term development and risk management strategies.

  • You are an accomplished civil engineering leader, specialising in design management and project execution.
  • With experience in local government, you excel in project scoping, design, and management, ensuring projects meet high standards within budget and timelines.
  • Your strong leadership is evident in your ability to mentor teams, foster collaboration, and navigate complex regulatory environments.
  • Your commitment to safety and continuous improvement makes you a valuable asset in municipal engineering.
  • A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering is essential and experience and knowledge of project management is required.
  • You are ready to make a positive contribution to Moira Shire Council.
