About the role

This position is a temporary full-time role (until 13 February 2026) in the Development and Compliance team, based at the Moruya Administration Office. The successful candidate will provide sound customer service advice on regulatory matters including development, construction and other related approvals processes.

Your main duties will include:

  • Responding to counter, telephone and correspondence enquiries on matters such as development, planning and environment polices. Enquiries will be from developers, Council officers and the community.
  • Coordinating the booking of and providing administrative support to pre-lodgement meetings and internal development committee meetings.
  • Providing accurate advice and ensuring the competency of applications for development, complying development, construction certificates and other approvals prior to registration.
  • Undertaking detailed searches of Council’s records and preparing a written summary of approvals and certificates pertaining to property enquiries.
  • Checking and authorising the issue of planning certificates.

Salary Information

Total remuneration for the role is in the range $74,509.27 to $92,498.65 gross per annum consisting of:

  • $66,824.46 to $82,958.43 base salary
  • $7,684.81 to $9,540.22 superannuation (at 11.5%)

About you

This is an exciting opportunity for an administrative expert who has an interest in Local Government Planning. We are looking for someone who has experience preparing quality official documentation, who has a passion for excellent customer service and who is comfortable undertaking research and interpreting legislation. You will be a high achiever who enjoys working in a small team and your application will further demonstrate the following:

  • Willingness and ability to undertake a series of short courses in planning as part of Council’s Learning and Development Pathway.
  • Substantial administrative experience including proficient typing, implementation of information/records systems including accurate data entry and timely management of data, ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated high level organisational skills and ability to work effectively in a busy workplace with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
  • Sound computer skills with specific expertise in MS office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and the ability to quickly become familiar with Council specific computer applications.
