As a Crew Leader working as part of our tractor operational maintenance team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the beauty, functionality and safety of our community's open green spaces. Your primary focus will be leading and working with a team responsible for managing grass heights and conducting essential tractor operations across a range of green spaces such as roadsides, fire breaks, parks and reserves.
You will be operating tractors and other specialised equipment in convoy formations to safely undertake necessary maintenance work. This role offers variety of tasks as you will be alternating between shadow vehicle driving and tractor operations as well as chemical spraying and undertaking basic machine maintenance as required, such as changing tractor blades.
In addition to your fieldwork, you'll also handle basic administrative responsibilities by utilising digital tools (tablets or computers) to create and update work orders, develop and review maintenance schedules and identify and allocate the necessary resources and materials for tasks and projects. The combination of hands-on leadership and organisational management will ensure the successful upkeep of our open green spaces.
This position offers a perfect blend of outdoor work, technical skills and team work. You'll contribute directly to the upkeep of our community's green spaces while developing valuable skills in machinery operation and landscape maintenance.

About you
Ideally you will have proven experience in a similar role, successfully leading a crew undertaking maintenance tasks as outlined above. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, along with the ability to manage administrative duties and effectively utilise the necessary technology software and applications for this position.

While not mandatory for initial employment, a Certificate III in Horticulture, Parks and Gardens, Landscape Construction or another similar qualification is desirable. However, this qualification will be required for progression within the Crew Leader Framework.
