This role is responsible for providing sound technical advice to internal and external customers on matters relating to trees and determining applications for tree removal on privately owned lands.

Our ideal candidate will provide a high level of level customer service with initiative to facilitate mediation and resolutions. You will also be safety conscious and enjoy working in the outdoors with varied tree management situations on public and occasional private land. 

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

Key activities of this role include:

  • Process, assess and determine customer private tree removal/pruning permit applications, as required, under a delegated authority on behalf of Council;
     
  • Assist development control in the role of investigating tree related complaints in accordance with relevant legislation;
  • Prepare development application referrals for potential development sites in accordance with legislation and policies and the drafting of conditions pursuant to section 4.17 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.

Essential Criteria:

  • AQF 5 Horticulture (Arboriculture), diploma, or equivalent with demonstrated experience in a similar role combined with ongoing professional development;
  • WorkCover WHS Induction (White Card); 
     
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence;

This role provides a commencing salary range of $72K - $86k with Tool of Trade Vehicle + 11.5% Superannuation.

A 9 day fortnight work-cycle currently applies to this role.

Successful candidates may be required to undertake a course of vaccinations against Hepatitis A and B and Tetanus or demonstrate their immunity.
