About the role

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Waste Services Operator to provide quality waste and organics collection services for both rural and urban residences and businesses. This role will require a high level of customer service and an ability to work efficiently in the field, including the collection of domestic and commercial waste, maintaining transfer stations, landfill operations, and assisting with organics processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate waste collection vehicles, including side-loading waste compaction units, hook lift trucks, and front-end loaders.
  • Ensure the efficient, safe, and productive collection of waste and organics, in compliance with local and state regulations.
  • Perform daily checks on equipment and liaise with the Team Leader for necessary servicing and maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate records, including time sheets, plant logs, and waste management records.
  • Carry out waste and organics collection duties on both rural and urban routes, emptying litter bins and street bins as required.
  • Occasionally provide on-the-job training and guidance to other team members.
  • Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety regulations and policies.
  • Assist with various waste management duties as needed and coordinate with other team members.
