As a WHS Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of health and safety objectives across all Council operations. You'll actively engage with staff and contractors, providing expert advice and technical expertise on safety matters. Your responsibilities will include implementing innovative safety initiatives and system documents, conducting thorough risk assessments, and supporting detailed incident investigations. With a strong focus on fostering a proactive WHS culture, you'll help ensure the wellbeing of our employees, contractors, volunteers, and visitors.

About you

You excel in high-pressure situations, leveraging your wealth of experience in incident investigation, hazard identification, and the creation of risk assessments and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) to foster safety
across diverse and dynamic work environments—where every day brings new challenges and opportunities.

Your proactive mindset and innovative thinking allow you to anticipate potential issues and develop creative solutions. With a strong focus on balancing site and office-based responsibilities, you excel at working
collaboratively with diverse teams across the council. You are always striving to enhance safety standards and promote proactive WHS culture. Your unwavering dedication to the wellbeing of employees, contractors, volunteers, and visitors makes you an invaluable asset to our team, contributing to a dynamic and secure working environment.
